Portland Roadtrip 10.-14.5.2007 - Day 3

we continued driving along the Oregon coast in the morning

we went through little villages that are all over along the coast, then in Tillamook we said "good bye" to the breathtaking coast and headed into the mountains towards Portland, Oregon where our main purpose for this trip was...the 80th birthday of "Grandma" a relative from Mandy

wow and yeah what an amazing experience it was for me to taste all that Thai food and enjoy the awesome hospitality of these people!!! Thank you so much!
Actually these people were surprised that the "Farang" (=white foreigner ) ate all the spicy, hot and exotic Thai food, we had some special dishes from north thailand that you can´t get in a restaurant...haha Grandma was very concerned when Mandy gave me that spicy food from the north! ^^

after the party Mandy and me headed to downtown and checked out the city and the nightlife, we got some insider tips from a couple that also attended the birthday party, so we kind of knew where to go and what we should check out.
