Italy - 10.-17.8.2008

Probably my last trip for this summer...this time we flew down to Venice, Italy.
I took a friend along to show her a little bit of the backpacker lifestyle. She´s only 15 and so she wouldn´t be able to do that on her own...

Finally the real Venice, in the last months I´ve seen several cities that claimed to be kind of the same like Venice...but now since I´ve seen the real Venice I must say they´re nothing compared to this city on the water with it´s small alleys, canals and old buildings!

After 2 nights we took the train to the Ligurian westcoast, after a night outside of La Spezia we took the train to the Cinque Terre, a stretch of coastline with 5 small villages connected by train and boat but not with a road, there are trails along the cliffy shore where we did some hiking for a day

there is no way not to visit the Collosseum while you´re in Rome...and it´s huge!

Amsterdam, Netherlands - 2.-7.8.2008

The last few days I spent in Amsterdam the capital of the Netherlands

nice old city with lots of canals and boats

Joe and Keri from Vancouver, my main reason why I did this trip to Amsterdam it was good to meet them there and spent a couple of days together

I didn´t want to pay for the train tickets, so I decided to hitch hike the 700km to Amsterdam and back...it turned out to be quite interesting to hitch hike even though not too many people liked to give me a lift...but the ones that did where very interesting people...from some hippies to business men in nice cars!
